Stupid LJ

Just an FYI...

I'm one of the lucky people for whom LJ's latest update has screwed up their ability to post comments. My browser's memory usage goes through the roof and then the browser freezes or crashes (and at home sometimes ends up freezing up my whole computer for several minutes). At work today it sent my browser into a perpetual loop. The mem usage would go up to 900,000K, the browser would stop and then reconnect to the site (where before it had just been giving me a stack overflow message) and then the mem usage would go up and... yeah...

Sometimes I can post with no problem and other times... not so much and since I'm tired of the 'how long will my old computer freeze for this time...?' I'll probably be mostly quiet until they fix whatever it is.

I, along with many others have support requests up for this, but I'd ask if any of you are having similar problems that you open a support request as well since the more complaints they have...

Just a few suggestions. I am not having the problem you mention, but I am using Firefox. What browser are you using? I am also not seeing problems with comments. I am receiving them and have been able to answer them too.

I post with either ScribeFire, which is an add-on to Firefox, or by using Posterous.

With Posterous, you sign up for an account which is free. Then you can post to LiveJournal by sending an email message. That is piped straight through to LJ.

I don't know if I am bypassing the problem, or it is browser related. Let's see if this posts OK. I do read LJ in Firefox, and this comment is posted through Firefox.

It appears that Firefox is fine. My comment posted without a hitch.

You're lucky. There are a bunch of people using Firefox - and a number of other browsers - IE, AOL, Chrome, Opera, etc - who are all having the samne problem.

And as you can see, sometimes I can get in and post a comment, other times, not so much.

No idea. Most of what I know is from reading other people's support requests.

If you haven't seen my latest post, LJ finally got back to me. And thus far disabling hovering has worked to let me post, so... *knocks on wood*
