Gods, I must be on crack. I'm 16 pages into a story that no one in the world is going to want to read except
miladygrey and myself and I was up till 4 in the morning working on it 'cause I knew if I didn't get the scene with the kid finished before I went to bed I was just going to have nightmares.
All this for a story that really, by rights ought to just be a PWP story, except of course that I am clearly congenitally incapable of writing such a thing - no, I need 25-30 pages of lead-up and story and *plot* (which kind of defeats the whole PWP thing, right?) before my characters can have mindless sex - and you know what? They're not even going to get it then - they're gonna have to wait even longer.
All this because
someone *cough
miladygrey*cough* wondered about what would happen if one of my OC's ended up visiting New York after Elliot Stabler's wife left him.
Which leads me to my OC mini-rant...
Why is it that whenever I create an OC they take on a life of their own and I end up plotting out what could potentially turn into literally hundreds of pages of backstory on them? To the extent that I back burner the fanfiction I originally intended to write and delve into oodles of original fic featuring the character. Which sort of makes my fanfic story idea start to look more like a crossover between two fandoms - just that one of them I created all on my own. I've even had other people ask for permission and actually *write* stories about my OC's backstories! How does this happen??
I know. I'm warped. There's something terribly wrong with me.
I need help!
