Yes, that's the temperature here currently, though I believe with the wind chill it's actually something like 20 below. Fahrenheit.

But I'm home and warm and about to go crawl into my lovely warm bed, so I can't complain much.

The LJ outage did kinda bother me - less because I had something to write or needed to read than because I felt so out of touch. I'm fairly lazy and figure that I can get people's emails off their LJ's if I need them - except of course when there's no LJ and I can't go there to figure out how to contact my friends. But other than that I survived very nicely - gettin myself caught up on other things.

Had a nice long weekend till my mom called, casually, early Monday afternoon. Long and the short of it was, she's been having chest pains, the doctor wanted her seen in the ER (tried to send her in on Friday in an ambulance, but she refused AND didn't tell any of us) and she was NOT going in to the ER in an ambulance so did I think maybe I could come and get her and bring her in. She was all teary and my mother is NEVER teary, so it kind of freaked me out a bit.

So, in we went, they ran a million tests and her heart and lungs all seem fine. So, hopefully it's some weird muscle pull thing. I stayed with her Monday night (I'd packed a bag with stuff to stay with her a few nights if needed), since my dad (poor guy) was away on a business trip to Arizona and not scheduled to return home till Wednesday. So, even though she told me she didn't need to me stay over tonight as well I'd planned to go there after work and see whether *I* thought she needed me to stay over another night. But she called me at work (prompting panic everywhere since I'd made her *promise* to call me at work if she got worse or if she needed me and I'd told the secretaries NOT to send her to voice mail but to come get me 'cause it was *serious*!) to tell me Dad had changed his flight and was coming in today at 4:30. Phew! (He was not happy to hear that she had neglected to tell him about the chest pains being worse any of the times he had spoken to her over the weekend.)

So, hopefully all is well - I feel much better that he's home (as does my mom. And I'm home, I've read all my f-list (How did it get to skip=250 between Sunday midnight and Tuesday AM!!!???), my cat has forgiven me for being away (took an hour and a half before she would come near me), and I'm ready to head off to bed! Yay!

Oh yes, and only one of my new students actually showed up today which made things much easier - which was good 'cause it was insane enough as it was. Perhaps she'll show up tomorrow.

Thanks! Mom is starting to feel better. She's been seeing a chiropracter who also does ultrasound and electrical muscle stimulation as part of the treatment and it seems to be helping! Yay!

Thanks, hon. We're all doing well and Mom is starting to feel better. She's been seeing a chiropracter who also does ultrasound and electrical muscle stimulation as part of the treatment and it seems to be helping! Yay!
