For those who are wondering what I'm up to... here's the email I sent to my parents this AM. At 5:30 AM.
Good morning!
We had some dramas last night! About 11 someone rang my doorbell and then either threw something heavy or slammed themselves against my front door, massively shaking it. I was terrified - probably because I'd just turned out the light and was within about 2 feet of the door when it happened as I was on my way to check to make sure it was locked and then head up to bed. I wasn't about to open the door since I had no idea if someone or ones was still out there or what was going on so I slipped into the kitchen and called 911. They connected me with police department and they sent two officers over to check things out. Nothing seems damaged or anything, but it certainly gave Kachina (my cat) and I a good scare! I left the outside light on all night.
It was probably just one/some of the neighborhood kids fooling around, but maybe they got a bit of a scare when the two cruisers showed up and searched around the area with flashlights and cruised the streets a little.
In less dramatic, but still interesting news, I trimmed the bee tree last night while I was waiting for my part of the rehearsal to start since the bees had all retired for the evening. Mom, if you could bring one of dad's little saws over when you come to do the gluing I could maybe cut down one of the thick trunks that I trimmed all the leaf growing areas of off. It was just way too big for the clippers. Not sure yet what to do with the bushes there. I can probably just hand trim them if I wait till the bees are gone again.
I also got some good work done for Yellow Taxi yesterday. Some of it was just beginning stuff - like sending out emails to try and get things going and I can't proceed till I hear back, but I did also fix and complete a section of an online application process they need to receive grants - and which they'd been unsuccessful at fixing previously. :) Suzanne was most happy!
My part of rehearsal only lasted about 10 minutes as they ran over with some other stuff, but that's okay. The director said she absolutely adored the choices I'd made for the character at the reading, so I felt good about being on the right track.
Anyway, it's way too early for me, so I'm going to maybe go doze for a little bit longer. I'll catch you both later.
Love,
Your crazy daughter
