Question Meme
Jul. 12th, 2007 12:37 am1. Leave me a comment saying anything random, like your favorite lyric to your current favorite song. Or your favorite kind of sandwich. Something random. Whatever you like.
2. I respond by asking you five questions so I can get to know you better.
3. You WILL update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be asked, you will ask them five questions.
Here's what I was asked...

1. What ingredients go into the best kind of grilled cheese sandwich?
My mom's grilled cheese is the absolute best and I tend to be a purist. Plain white bread, a dab of butter to grill it with and cheese. That's it. :)
2. What's your favorite thing to do when it rains?
I love to curl up in bed or on the couch with my cat and a good book.
3. What one historical figure would you like to be able to meet?
There are so many! Maybe... Mother Teresa.
4. What would you do if you won the lottery today?
Cheer! Then pay off all my bills and my family's bills and all of our houses/condos whatever, set up college funds for my three nieces, donate a bunch to charity (including the place I work and the theater companies I work with), buy some books and turn one of my extra rooms into a library (since I won't need a roommate anymore), maybe travel a bit (Japan, Ireland, Portugal, Prague, Vienna, etc...), and tuck the rest away for a rainy day. Yes, I'd still keep my job.
5. When socks get lost in the dryer, where do they go?
They go through a metamorphosis and change into coat hangers, thus solving the mystery of how they seem to magically replicate.

1. What was the best part you've ever played?
I loved playing Miss Abby in Arsenic and Old Lace - twice. Especially getting to work with my best friend playing Miss Martha. However, playing Nana in For the Pleasure of Seeing Her Again was probably the best overall role thus far. Although... the play I'm currently working on? I'm playing the character of Matilda in Indoor/Outdoor and that may end up being my new favorite. Plus it gets me nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Professional Drama for the next NH Theatre Awards. Always cool!
2. What was the funniest thing one of your students ever did or said to you?
One of my students came in on a Monday and told me that he'd seen some documentary about how food got to the table and he'd decided that he was going to be a vegetarian from now on. We got to lunch and I realized that they were serving hamburgers so once we were all seated (each class eats at one table family style) I told him I'd get him a peanut butter and jelly or something. He gave me this weird look as he grabbed a burger and asked me why I wanted to do that. I reminded him of the whole vegetarian thing and he looked at me like I was crazy and said, "Well, yeah, but not like at mealtimes!"
3. Name three fannish characters you'd love to meet in real life.
Like characters from shows? Rodney McKay, largely because he wouldn't know what to make of me. Michael Garibaldi, 'cause really, what an incredible guy to hang out with. And... Mr. Spock, 'cause, well, Vulcan and the ultimate in cool.
4. What food can you simply not live without right now?
Right now? Hmmm... No one food, but things with melted cheese. Quesadillas, grilled cheese, the evil mozzarella cheese sticks, etc.
5. What was your biggest OMGWTF! moment in fandom?
People freaking out because J.K. Rowling "screwed them over" by not "admitting" that Sirius Black and Remus Lupin were lovers and that she "owed it" to the gay community to write them that way because she had the opportunity to make a great statement.
I'm sorry. As an author you get to write what your muses say. She's canon, not the fans. Lupin and Tonks, Harry and Ginny, Ron and Hermione. Get over it, everyone. You want it your way, that's fine, write your own fanfiction, but no bashing the ultimate creator of the characters because 'she got it all wrong'. They're hers.
That was fun!
