Carrot, of the Night Watch. He's big, loyal, dumb, honest, never drinks, and will do whatever you tell him to. He'd be great at shovelling out the driveway, and if you don't tell him it's impossibe, he might be able to run around with a basket and catch the snowflakes before they hit the driveway in the first place.

I've only read a few of them, but from what I've seen, I think you might enjoy Discworld books in general. I'll be very surprised if one (or all) of the Fortier/Gamache households doesn't have some lying around.

Yes, I know Elliot has Issues, great big large ones that he carries around that have their own display case. But once he talks some more with Doctor Huang and gets the divorce stuff with Kathy over and done with, he'll go out to see a play. And he'll be delighted by your wit and good humor, and then be rather amazed that your job is a job that allows you to help people without having your faith in humanity undermined every single hour of the day. And then he'll compliment your excellent taste in music, and there will be demonstrations of being loved so naughty makes you weak in the knees. *evil grin* Yes, I have it all planned out. Along with my life as a covert operative in the Section with Michael.
